Opening the clickable map
On the “Road Network Conditions” page of Québec 511 Web, select a region on the map. |
Lets you display the clickable map, centered on the chosen region. Certain themes are displayed according to the range of the map. It is possible to view them by increasing or reducing the map scale.
Remark :
If the region selected is “Nord-du-Québec (Baie-James)”, the Web page of the Société de développement de la Baie-James site is displayed.

Consult the map
Position the cursor on the icon or as close as possible to the desired map location and click on the left mouse button. |
Lets you display a window containing the information from the selected icon. |
Move the display window
Click on the map while keeping the left mouse button depressed and then move the map to the desired location. |
Lets you move the contents of the display window in a given direction without changing the map scale.

Consult the legend
Click on Legend to display or click on X to mask. |
Lets you consult the themes of the legend.

In the “Information” window, click on the name of the region (hyperlink).

In the “Information” window, click on the route marker of the highway or freeway.

Lets you look up information on the nature of the work in progress on the road system, on the hindrances they cause and the lane closing schedule in all regions of Québec. This information is updated regularly, as the work progresses.
To give travellers a general picture of the road network conditions at a glance and plan their trips more efficiently, the MTQ screens the information displayed. Therefore, information on certain secondary roads under the MTQ’s responsibility or certain spot or short-term work with little or no repercussions on traffic is not displayed.
The hindrances caused by Roadwork
in progress on the road network under the MTQ’s
responsibility are indicated on the clickable map by means of the following symbol:

to obtain the location and duration of a hindrance. The information then will appear in an information window displayed on the map.
For more details, click on the symbol or on the hyperlink indicating the location of the work displayed in the “Information” window.
Hindrances caused by Roadwork are presented as follows:
Hindrances
Hindrance: Weekends
The work hinders traffic only on weekends.
Hindrance: Weekdays
The work hinders traffic only on weekdays.
Hindrance: Permanent (weekends and weekdays) The work hinders traffic on weekdays and weekends.
Hindrance: Major (weekdays or weekends)
Work hindering traffic substantially on weekdays or weekends, which can result in major congestion
Some Roadwork performed on secondary roads is not displayed on the map in order to speed up downloading. To complete a search, go to the tabs By road or By region.

Information on the road conditions prevailing on Québec roads south of the 49th parallel is indicated on the map by the following symbol:
You must click on the road section to obtain the road conditions on a given road. The information will appear in a window displayed on the left side of the map.

Information concerning unforeseeable events, exceptional situations or emergencies that significantly influence the free flow of vehicles on the road network belonging to the MTQ.
Major incidents in progress on the road network are indicated on the map banner. The warnings are presented in the following order:
- Provincial warnings that concern all of Québec
- Regional warnings or warnings concerning a specific region
Warnings for a specific road section are indicated on the map with the following symbol: 
You must click on the icon to obtain information on the incident in progress. The information will appear in a window displayed on the left side of the map.

The images presented on these pages are captured by the MTQ’s traffic cameras. They are updated every 5 to 7 minutes.
They will provide an overview of the traffic on an artery.
The traffic cameras are represented by the following symbol:
You must click on the icon to obtain the image of the selected camera, which will appear in an information window on the map.

Information on the status of ferry service.
Only information on ferries offering a year-round service is displayed.
Ferries are represented by the following symbol:
You must click on the icon to obtain the ferry’s location and service status. The information will appear in an information window on the map.
For more information on the selected ferry (schedules), click on the hyperlink in the information window. This will let you open the Web page of la Société des traversiers du Québec.

Information on the approximate waiting time for travellers and commercial shippers at Canada and United States border crossings.
This information comes from the Canada Border Services Agency, which updates the estimated waiting time at least once an hour.
The border crossings are represented by the following symbol: 
You must click on the icon to obtain the waiting time at the selected border crossing. The information will appear in an information window on the map.

You must click on the icon to open the information window that will appear on the map. For details on the services offered at the selected wayside park, click on the hyperlink appearing in the information window.
